Representation Agreements were developed through a grass-roots law reform initiative. This new legal tool was designed as the primary tool for prevention of abuse.

The Representation Agreement Act is based on the experience that what keeps us safe is having more than one person in our life who cares about us. That is one reason Nidus emphasizes the process of making a Representation Agreement, rather than focusing all of the attention on filling out the legal form(s).
